An SRA complaint against ME?

sra-logoI am neither a solicitor nor a barrister.  I have never been, or claimed to be, either.

This morning, I received notice of a complaint made against me to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Continue reading

Police Scotland’s hate crime

Following the Reverend David Robertson’s excellent example, along with at least one other person so far, I have reported to Police Scotland a hate crime committed by Police Scotland itself.  I used the online form that is here.   I encourage you all to do the same, even if you don’t live in Scotland.  (Read on to find out why you don’t have to live in Scotland to report the crime.)

The hate crime concerned is the printing and display of the poster depicted.  The victims of the hate crime are the people of faith against whom this intimidating, threatening, offensive, stereotyping, alarming and distressing hate-speech poster incites the reader to religious hatred.

I actually reported the poster twice, because the online form’s design compelled this: once in my capacity as a witness of the crime, and a second time in my capacity as a victim of the same crime.  (I am both.)

THIS IS WHAT I WROTE …  Continue reading

The Wee Flea’s hate incident report

My reaction was exactly the same as David Robertson’s when I saw this “Dear Bigots” poster online myself.  (David blogs as The Wee Flea.)

The following excellent radio interview of a certain Scottish police and crime commissioner sets the background to David’s reporting of Police Scotland and the Scottish government for the “hate incident” of publishing that poster.

Here is David’s reblogged post:

I have just fulfilled my civic duty and reported both Police Scotland and the Scottish Government for a ‘Hate Incident’  following this incident described yesterday. The ‘Hate’ Police are Now Here

To Police Scotland and the Scottish Government

I would like to report a Hate Crime. As the Scottish government and Police Scotland encourage us to do so- One Scotland

IMG_4012Going home the other day I noticed a poster that said: Dear Bigots, you can’t spread your religious hate here. End of sermon. Yours, Scotland. “ This is part of a series which is also addressed to transphobes, homophobes, racists etc.   The only problem is that this is produced by the Scottish Government and Police Scotland.

You state that “A hate incident is any incident that is not a criminal offence, but something which is perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated by hate or prejudice.”   By…

Should Christians attend Pride marches?

Judas gospelIt is argued by some who identify as Christians, that true Christians should “apologise” to “LGBT people”, and march with them on their Pride marches, using this as an opportunity to share the gospel of Christ with them.  There appears to some biblical support for this position in the following passage from the Gospel according to St Judas. Judgment of Garnham J on the day of Alfie’s funeral

Yesterday, I received the transcript of the judgment of Mr Justice Garnham on the day of the funeral of Alfie Evans, 14th May 2018.  This concerns my unsuccessful application for an urgent injunction prohibiting the cremation of the remains of Alfie Evans, without a prior post-mortem examination.  (At the time, I did not know whether a burial or a cremation was planned.) Coroner acknowledges my Alfie Evans judicial review claim

The defendant senior coroner, Mr Andre Rebello, has acknowledged service of my claim for judicial review of his decision not to investigate the death of Alfie Evans (9th May 2016 – 28th April 2018).

He hasn’t really responded much to the grounds for judicial review that I have pled.  He has, instead, quoted extensively from our email correspondence on 8th and 9th of May this year, and annexed the transcript of the injunction hearing of 14th May 2018. Continue reading

Tom and Kate have no right to be involved, rules judge

I was delighted when the coroner suggested that parents Tom Evans and Kate James ought to be allowed to join in, as interested parties, with my legal challenge against his decision that Alfie’s death didn’t need investigatingThe Christian Legal Centre tried to prevent me from serving the court papers on Tom and Kate, so I went back to court last Wednesday to apply for the court’s help in getting to Tom and Kate the good news of my legal challenge, enabling me to recover from the Christian Legal Centre’s treachery in keeping from their clients the news of my involvement, from May onwards.

Behind closed doors today, Mr Justice Butcher ruled, without the 30 minute public hearing for which I had applied, that Tom and Kate are not entitled to know about my legal challenge, and don’t necessarily even have any interest in whether the coroner’s decision was right or wrong.  The judge did put the ball back in the Christian Legal Centre’s court though, by ordering me to ask them to send Tom and Kate copies of his order today.  Continue reading
