The Learning Summary from the Significant Case Review of murdered toddler Liam Fee, uses the word “mother” twenty times. It does not even use the word “father” once. I couldn’t bear to read it, once I realised that. I really don’t think that any of them wanted to learn anything.
I have waited patiently for this report. As soon as I read about the murder trial last year, I began to suspect that Liam would be alive today, if only the officials had helped his dad to keep a protective, fatherly eye on him, when his mum went off the rails like that. Would they realise this? Or was this going to be like an elephant in the room that nobody wanted to mention? Well, now we know.
Liam’s dad, I don’t even know your name. I am so sorry for your loss, which the media seem to be ignoring. I am crying as I write this. I’d love it if you got in touch with me. I am praying for you. Please don’t go to pieces. Seek God. God bless you.
Jesus is looking after Liam’s soul for you. He wants you to want to spent eternity with Him, and with your son, who will rise again when Jesus returns. He’s paid for your stay already. Your sins weren’t cheap, but He paid them all off, when he was nailed to a cross. Have that faith.

I completely agree that Dad should have been helped with getting regular access to all 3 of his children. But there are other issues here too.
The report isn’t worth a jot. It DOES NOT address any of the real problems. It does not even mention the social worker at the heart of it all.
Outwith the reports remit but very relevent..
Fife has had GIRFEC & Named Person in place & working for over 10 years & yet the report uses GIRFEC as a plus point?!!
SO MANY very young children have been murdered in that area in recent years & ALL HAD a named person.

Even more alarming is the fact that just over 1 year after Mikaeel was murdered, Mikaeels dad’s best friend SHEKU BAYOH was MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD BY POLICE SCOTLAND.
